I pursued a graduate degree in rehabilitation counseling to support individuals with disabilities, driven by a commitment to empowering people facing challenges in employment, education, and independent living.
I’m passionate about helping individuals with ADHD embrace their unique strengths and overcome obstacles.
My approach combines Motivational Interviewing with mindfulness practices like meditation to help you gain clarity, build resilience, and develop coping strategies that work for you. I focus on creating a collaborative environment where we can explore solutions together, helping you become more self-sufficient and confident in advocating for your needs.

Empowering Individuals with ADHD to Thrive
ADHD is not a flaw, nor a sign of weakness. It’s simply a different way of thinking, feeling, and being. Individuals with ADHD have extraordinary gifts—they often see connections and solutions that others miss, bringing fresh perspectives and creative energy to everything they do. I admire the resilience, perseverance, and problem-solving abilities that people with ADHD possess. These qualities not only make them dynamic in their relationships and work but also bring innovation to their personal lives. I am dedicated to helping my clients recognize and nurture these strengths so they can thrive.
I decided to pursue a graduate degree in rehabilitation counseling because of my strong commitment to supporting individuals with disabilities. I’m passionate about helping people overcome challenges related to employment, education, and independent living. This field allows me to combine my desire to make a meaningful impact with the opportunity to empower others to succeed.
In therapy, I use Motivational Interviewing (MI) as my primary tool, which I find particularly effective for individuals with ADHD. MI helps clients uncover their motivations, resolve ambivalence about change, and move toward their goals. When the time is right, I also incorporate meditation to help my clients develop mindfulness, reduce anxiety, and improve emotional regulation—especially important for those with ADHD. I’ve found that the combination of MI and meditation can be transformative for individuals who are ready to take control of their journey.
I have the skill set to guide individuals to gain more clarity in life by finding unique, personalized ways to manage time and commitments. We’ll focus on your core values, whether you're in high school, college, or navigating the work environment, to help you create strategies for success.
One of the most fulfilling moments in therapy for me is when I see a client experience an “aha” moment—when they realize something about themselves they had never known before. Whether it's discovering a strength they had overlooked or learning a new coping strategy, these moments are incredibly rewarding. It’s in these moments that I see the power of self-awareness, and I am always inspired by how clients can grow from them.
I’m especially passionate about working with individuals who feel stuck. Helping them become unstuck and start advocating for themselves is one of the most fulfilling aspects of my work. I believe that everyone can move past their barriers with the right guidance, tools, and support, and it’s my goal to be there every step of the way as they do.
Living with a disability myself, I understand the personal struggle and the feelings of being lost in the shuffle. This experience has deeply shaped my passion for helping individuals with ADHD navigate their own journey. My mission is to empower my clients with the knowledge and advocacy skills they need to embrace their unique strengths and achieve their full potential.
I draw inspiration from the words of Fritz Pearls: “The 'I' that says 'I am' is not the same 'I' that says 'I was' or 'I will be. We are constantly in the process of becoming." This belief is at the heart of my work. We are all in the process of becoming, and I’m here to help my clients embrace that journey with all the strength, creativity, and potential they already possess.
Take the first step toward lasting change today. Whether you’re feeling stuck or ready to embrace your strengths, I’m here to support you every step of the way.
Carrie
